Howard M. Kent, NCARB

Upon graduating from Denver’s Cherry Creek High School in 1975 Howard attended the University of Minnesota receiving his Bachelor of Architecture in 1980.  In 1977 while on break from University he worked in the City of Denver Planning Office as an intern.  After graduation Howard returned to Denver, working for local firms focusing on Commercial projects through the mid 80’s.

Howard lived in Australia, from June 1987 until September 1993, working on projects located there and in the Pacific.  He was the assistant Site Architect for World Expo 88 in Brisbane and then subsequently was the Project Architect for a large resort in Saipan.  His responsibilities covered the full range of Architectural services, from client liaison, design and documentation to travel to Guam and Saipan in order to coordinate the consultants and to evaluate and negotiate with contractors.

From October 1993 to December 1999 Howard was self-employed, maintaining a practice in residential, commercial and contract work.  He co-oped with residential Architect Robert R. Larsen.  Howard also has 4 years of experience coordinating and detailing interior designs, specifically 'high end' Millwork.

For the next 10 years from January 2000 through 2009, Howard was employed with two Denver Architecture firms as a senior Project Manager overseeing numerous projects.  During his tenure with these firms he managed Hotel projects and large Multi-family Residential projects as well as numerous Retail developments.  His responsibilities included extensive travel to coordinate and participate in client and consultant meetings, project submissions and construction coordination.

Howard has over 37 years of experience covering a wide range of project types, from single family residences, remodels, and additions, to multi-million dollar resort and commercial projects. He has coordinated business development and is optimistic that CDFM will allow him to provide the same personal service that he has in the past, while attending to a variety of commissions.
