About CDFM Architectural

Our Motto:
'Appropriate Technology for Building Design and Facility Management’, reflects a balance of technological solutions with pragmatic sensitivity to our clients’ needs. We are dedicated to providing highly experienced principal-level attention to all clients and projects.

We have a wide range of experience, with personalized attention to clients in traditional architectural services, as well as feasibility analysis, due diligence analysis for property acquisition, programming and needs assessment, master planning, construction document preparation and construction administration.  We treat each project as unique, while drawing upon the reservoir of language and crafts common to all projects.

Our History:
CDFM was founded in 1990 to provide architectural design and record document services for building owners and facility managers.  Its founder, Richard Heinemeyer, AIA, has over 40 years of experience and has been in private practice since 1981 in Colorado.  Howard Kent assumed ownership of CDFM Architectural January 1, 2011.  Richard remained closely involved with the firm through the final disposition of the transfer Dec 31, 2013. Richard is still available for consultation as needed.

    Specialty Services:

  • Energy-conscious & Solar Energy Design
  • Consulting and “Green” design for projects seeking a US Green Building Council LEED rating.
  • Consulting for Building Owners and Facility Managers: Rentable Area Studies - Accurate analysis of rental area, employing CAD to produce versatile electronic building record documents.  BOMA rules for building measurement are employed to assure close adherence to industry standards.  Documentation includes maps showing all categories of space and easily updated spreadsheets that can be used to monitor building leases for use over the lifetime of the building.
